Boat and yacht types explained
The word boat implies a smaller vessel, usually up to about 13 meters. All the other vessels are actually yachts. The word luxury is often attributed to yachts, perhaps due to their length, equipment, comfort, and of course to their crew. This generally means more expenses while chartering such a yacht. Boats are smaller, less luxurious, can be chartered without a crew for they are simple and easy to navigate. In spite of a boat length you can always decide to hire a skipper.
There are several boat types; motor boats, sailing boats, catamarans, yachts, gulets, motorsailers. When planning your vacation on board, we suggest you get as many information as you can from your charter company for it will make your planning easier. Gulets and motorsailers are an interesting option if you are looking for a good company and you would like to meet other people for such boats can accomodate even up to 30 or 40 people.
Your choice depends on your budget, number of passengers, base, experience and other factors. Keep in mind that each cabin can accomodate two people, some even three (usual for gulets).
Sailing boats are less expensive, while motor boats consume a great deal so you can expect more expenses. As to the equipment, all the boats are generally well equipped. However, what's not the standard for boat equipment is to be charged in addition.
